In January 2009, after a severe malfunction, Chesley Sullenberger landed US Airways Flight no. 1549 on the Hudson river successfully.  Later the same year, not all that far away, the Yankees successfully captured the 2009 World Series.  On their way to the trophy they had to get past the Los Angeles Angels in the 2009 American League Championship Series.  These cuff links were crafted from a Game 5 ball.

These cuff links have been crafted from an MLB Authenticated 2009 American League Championship Game Used New York Yankees Baseball from Game 5 vs the Angels.  Set in sterling silver with the back side hallmarked "Yankees".

Officially licensed by Major League Baseball, a tamper-evident hologram sticker is adhered to the back side to ensure authenticity. Comes in a Tokens black gift-box with an authentication instruction card.

The game used bases used are procured directly from the MLB teams or official MLB partners. A hologram is attached by MLB Authenticators field-side when base is removed from play. Look up hologram's unique number in MLB's game history database to learn details of the base's game history.

MLB Authentication

The MLB Authentication Program was launched in 2001 so that memorabilia purchasers could have a comfort level that authenticated materials are in fact 100% genuine and can be referenced in an online database. It was the late 90's when Tony Gwynn happened to walk into the San Diego Padres team store and noticed fake signatures of his on items for sale.

The incident led to an FBI investigation which resulted in MLB hiring Authenticators from law enforcement in every city Major League teams play. These individuals are field-side at every game and witness balls going into the dirt, bats breaking, etc. They immediately receive a tamper-proof hologram produced by OpSec, U.S.

These same Authenticators visit Tokens facility to track and witness the game used materials going through production and place the final hologram on the finished item. This is your assurance that your purchase was made from genuine MLB game used artifacts.

It takes 162 games plus the playoffs for two teams to square off for the final four to seven games for all the marbles.  Tokens has been fortunate to get a limited number of MLB authenticated game used balls from every Series since 2007.
